saw the Marianne Faithfull Who Do You Think You Are? programme which was very interesting. She investigated her mother's time as a performer in 1920s/30s Berlin then how her mother + grandparents lived in Vienna during World War II + the impact that had on them (her grandmother was Jewish). AA Gill also described Ripper Street as 'steampunk' - personally I think steampunk is more than just a period drama told in a modern way.
